The denim shirt is a classic, versatile wardrobe staple that can be worn with a variety of bottoms. We both stepped out in ensembles that included a denim shirt (we promise it’s a coincidence)
Mili went for a funky look, pairing her light wash denim shirt over a printed skater dress with yellow box heels and a chunky necklace.
Phathu, on the other hand, went for corporate chic, she wore her dark wash denim shirt with a printed skater skirt. She stacked up with bold gold and black accessories to give the look an edge.
I woke up on the right side of the bed this morning, and what better way to make sure that I have a fabulous day than to dress up for work?
So I declared today, ‘Mili’s dress up day’. I paired by my highest uber hot red heels with my two tone lace and chiffon pencil dress which I both bought from a Cameroonian boutique in Jozi. The chiffon detail of the dress gives it a sophisticated yet sexy look. The length of my dress worked perfectly to show off my African legs 🙂 Yes ladies, you do want a dress that shows and accentuates the parts of your body that you like (love).
I decided to keep things simple by adding a Turquoise cross-shaped necklace from Mr Price, just to break the colours. Side note: it’s important to co-ordinate your clothes and make sure that things match. However if you feel that you are too matchy, wear a different colour shoe or different accessories, just to spice things up. My earrings are diamante studs that I got as a birthday gift from a good friend of mine.
What I love most about this look is that it can take me from the office and straight to the dinner table – or even to church if that’s where I’m headed.
Sundays are dress up days and a fashionista like me marvels at the sight of stylish young people. This past Sunday I spotted quite a few people that were dressed to the nines and started snapping away.
First up is Mosa Kekana. I love how he paired a pair of black skinnies with a crisp white shirt (every man needs to own a crisp white shirt by the way), black tie and a checked black and white short sleeved blazer, which he bought from a botique in downtown Jozi.
Guys, if you don’t have a fitted blazer with an interesting pattern, it’s time to search for one. These help make a bold fashionable statement
I loved how my friend Veronica Majola paired this blue figure-flattering dress from YDE with nude heels, a gold clutch and of course, a fabulous hair do. I feel a chunky necklace and bangles would have done wonders for the dress but that’s just me. Your thoughts?
My paparazzi camera also spotted another good friend of Metelia Sibanda, who went with a striped baby dolls dress, gorgeous snake skin clutch bag, stockings for that something extra and a pair of black lace up heels to complete the look. Best of all, this look can take your from church to lunch with the girls.
What’s your fave look?
