Every fashionista knows one thing for sure: white on white is a timeless trend. It’s an even bigger winner when worn classicly.
To make sure it’s anything but dull, I wore my white crepe pants and turtle neck vest with statement accessories. This neckpiece works wonderfully with a white top. Check out these dreamy snakeskin heels which I can’t get eniugh of.
Popped by True Love Magazine for a video shoot, so the occasion called for something classy, something sassy.
I wore a cream bodycon dress by Karen Millen – a treasured gift from my mom. Since I wore stockings and black heels, my look was quite simple. I had to pick perfect accessories to jazz it up, so I went with a gold-plated belt and a pearl and gold neckpiece.
I absolutely love this pearl and gold necklace from Ntozinhle Jewellery. They have some stunning items.
Detail ruled for Beyonce who donned a Michael Costello frock that checked boxes for sheer, floral and lace. White is oh-so-hot right now, and boy does it look grand on Mrs Carter.
Our fave thing about this dress is how it’s daring and yet ultra feminine. The bare back is only a plus. True to Beyonce form, her curves were in full glory. This is the one look everyone’s talking about.
We’ve seen something similar on J-Lo, Ciara and Rihanna already. So Beyonce missed out on an A for originality. Otherwise, SLAYING!
I was thrilled to hear the news Anisa Mpungwe of Loin Cloth and Ashes partnering with Mr Price for a limited-edition collection.
This collection, which is part of the store’s ‘Project’ limited lines, boasts structured numbers with graphic prints in black, white and yellow. Compared to her Loin Cloth and Ashes designs, the cuts in this range are simplified – and made with pockets like mine in mind.
Mr Price says the Tanzanian born designer drew inspiration from late eighties street-style, the range includes a bold letter-print top as well as a loose-fitting zipper jacket (see pic below).
My fashionable friend and I had a blue Monday today. No, not that bad blue Monday, but a fashionable blue.
I rocked blue jeans which I paired with a strappy white vest and navy blue and black knitted jersey. I also wore my favourite pair of black patent heels to take the outfit up a notch. My bright pink nails balanced things out.
Phathu rocked a light grey bodycon, which accentuated all her right assets in a tasteful manner. She paired it with textured black stockings (a must-have for those chilly days or just taking your look to the next level) and black pointed stiletto heels. She threw on some black and diamante studs and a matching necklace to complement her look for the day.
Not much of a blue Monday hey, rather a fashionable one. You like?
Black and white is timeless, classic and sophisticated trend that never, ever goes out of fashion. Worn right, a mix of these two colours can transform any look, taking it from bland to fab – add accessories and a pop of colour and you’re good to go!
You can get this look right by sneaking in bright red lips when you wear a monochromatic outfit. Do also try a different colour on your nails, bag, shoes or even a belt. I love the addition of colour as it breaks the monotomy – yes, you’ve heard this before, but that’s because it’s true. We’ve seen a few celebs and fashionistas rocking this trend, here are some of our fave looks:
So what do you think? Black and white your kinda style?
